New Direction!

So, I'm constantly having friends ask me for tips about how I do my make-up.  So, I thought to myself, why not add these tips to my blog?  And I realize that practically no one is reading or following my blog, but that's okay!  If all else fails, at least I'll have a solid compilation of all the things I've learned in the past couple of years.  So here goes nothing!  Now I just need to decide where to start...

Time flies when you're having fun...

I can't believe that it's almost the New Year. 2010 has flown by, and I find it hard to believe that it will be 2011 in two short days.  Life has been so busy between school and work, and I haven't documented as much make up as I would've liked.  So here it is, my New Year's Resolution: I will focus on building up my portfolio and enhancing my abilities this year.

I currently work as a server at Texas Roadhouse in Sandy, Utah while finishing my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management at Utah Valley University.  The plan is to finish my degree and move to Los Angeles to really learn how to be a make up artist.  So until then, I will be doing make up for friends and family to keep myself sane.

Recently, some ladies from my work expressed an interest in learning some make up tips.  We had an impromptu make up party at my apartment.  Below are a couple pictures from that night.

These photos are compliments of my friend J'Nae.  She expressed interest in playing up her blue eyes, while still having a smoky look.  I used matte colors by MAC to give her a porcelain look.  I used mostly purples, taupes and a neutral vanilla color which seemed like a more appropriate color palette for winter.

I'm new at this blogging business, so please be patient with my while I'm figuring out the dynamic of it!  More pictures coming soon!  (And this time I mean it!)

Let's get this party started...

As I mentioned, I have recently started doing make up for friends. Over the next little bit, I hope to expand my portfolio and start adding pictures of people I've done. Here is my good friend, Kat. I was able to do her make up for her wedding day. Wedding make up is always such a fun experience... Hopefully more pictures will follow soon!

The Beginning

My name is Natalie Hepworth. I am an aspiring Make Up Artist, currently residing in Sandy, UT. I have been interested in make up and make up artistry for as long as I can remember. More recently, I have been transitioning from doing make up strictly for fun, to doing make up on a more professional level. I am currently looking to expand my portfolio. I have done make up for special occasions like formal dances and weddings. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to contact me at nataliehepworth@hotmail.com. I will shortly be posting pictures from friends that I have had the opportunity to do make up for!
